Due to the diversity of today's workplace, companies are finding it necessary to adopt policies that create a more inclusive and supportive environment, rather than maintaining the antiquated homogeneous view. Because people think and communicate differently, the establishing of diversity policies and procedures provides the framework by which we can manage and more importantly leverage those differences. Organizations that accept differences forthrightly as assets provide a birthplace for innovation.
Rather than reinvent the diversity wheel, we decided to allocate resources to perform extensive research of some of the iconic organizations with global footprints who have long been recognized for their trailblazing diversity initiatives. This exercise afforded us the opportunity to examine data from multiple sources, which when synthesized, enabled us to adopt into our Diversity Portfolio some "best practices" that have already proven to be successful.
